The strengthening effect of PPE on wood pulp is higher than that on grass waste paper. With the increase of beating degree, the surface area of pulp fiber increases, and the adsorption capacity of PPE on wet strength increases accordingly. It has a strong adsorption effect on negatively charged fillers, adhesives and fine fibers, and has an obvious retention and filtration effect in the papermaking process.
The amount of addition depends on the wet strength of the paper, excessive addition will lead to the flocculation of the pulp, affect the evenness of the paper and the reuse of the damaged paper, and seriously will stick to the wool and the cylinder; The retention rate of PPE wet strength agent was affected by different paper weight. After the addition of PPE, the wet strength of the paper is only about 70% after drying, and it takes 7-15 days to reach the maximum wet strength. The use of PPE can increase the dry strength by about 15-20%; The retention rate of the first path of fiber can be increased from about 70% to more than 80%, and the clarity of white water is obviously improved. It has a synergistic effect on AKD and can reduce the amount of AKD.
The folding resistance, surface strength and transverse expansion rate of paper are improved, and it also has a good effect on reducing the broken end of wet paper web in the operation of paper machine.
